枢机团第八次全体会议决定下周二3月12日召开选举教宗会议。当天上午，枢机们将在圣伯多禄大殿举行选举教宗弥撒，下午进入西斯汀圣堂开始选举教宗会议。共有115位枢机参加选举，因此需要77张选票，即三分之二的票数才能选出新教宗。
