教宗方济各4月11日在梵蒂冈接见了非洲莫桑比克总理瓦基纳。会晤中双方表示，宗座和莫桑比克的良好关系感到欣喜。自从去年批准了双方在2011年12月7日签署的协议后，双方关系更加稳固。会晤中特别强调天主教会特别在教育事业、慈善服务、和救济工作方面，对该国发展与和平贡献良多。
